Welcome to House of Aska i Vuk

Welcome to our home. Here, you'll find a place where laughter is shared, music is played and delicious food is cooked.

After years of searching, a longing for a place to truly belong, in January of 2019 we found this hidden gem.

Our eyes met this unfinished yet beautiful house basking in the warm southern sun and we fell in love. After a very difficult year, this house felt like a rescue boot bringing us to new, healthier and happier shores. Shores of the island of Korcula.

Nestled on this very island, House of Aska i Vuk offers a breathtaking view of the sea, with the dreamy silhouette of Lastovo Island on the horizon.

The name – House of Aska i Vuk is inspired by the tale of Ivo Andric’s Aska i Vuk. Our house embodies the essence of this narrative – a home for free spirits where love for beauty and art intertwine.

With open hearts, we extend a warm welcome to our guests. Should you desire, our expertise in yoga, meditation, and breathing exercises – Ella stands ready to guide you towards tranquility.

The interior

House of Aska i Vuk provides accommodation for 4+1 guests in 3 cosy rooms with bohemian touch. It houses a total of 2 bedrooms, a home office, a covered terrace and a spacious rooftop terrace with panoramic sea views. Carefully chosen vintage and reclaimed furniture, the decor and collected artworks are adorning all rooms of our home.

We removed the walls between the kitchen and living room, creating a spacious and inviting area. With carefully selected handcrafted and vintage furniture, each piece has its own story and adds to the character of our home.

The open-plan kitchen consists of a sustainably repurposed fully equipped kitchen making the preparation of vegetarian dishes and delicacies an inspiring experience.

The dining room has authentically cosy and rustic look and feel while the living room has been created with utter relaxation in mind. No TV is installed in our house, as we know that the relaxation happens only when all screens are turned off. We are encouraging guests to unwind with a book, enjoy board games or make some music together.

Aska bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom equipped with a walk-in shower, while Vuk and Habibi (home office) rooms share a bathroom. Vuk room, a master bedroom, offers a direct access to a 60 sqm covered terrace with sea view. Here you can enjoy the shade with a book in your hand on one of the handmade chairs from Mali or on the hand-carved Sri Lankan seat.

On the covered terrace, there's a built-in charcoal grill for preparing vegetarian meals.

The rooftop terrace

The view from our House of Aska i Vuk rooftop terrace will take your breath away.

We created a rooftop inspired by Marrakesh. With white-washed walls, a lounge area, sun-soaked spaces, this open expanse offers an unparalleled view of the sea and sky.

It's a place for morning yoga sessions, sunbathing, lovely dinners and for evening meditations, chats and laughter, making music under the stars or simply enjoying the view with your morning cup of coffee or your favourite tea in the evening…

On the terrace, everywhere you turn, you will enjoy NATURE, as the pine forest forms a backdrop to our House of Aska i Vuk, while the magic of the Mediterranean sea serves as our front show.

This is also the spot where Ella teaches yoga in the morning and guides meditation session in the evening.

When you wish to take a swim in the sea, it is enough to go down the stairs which will lead you to the beach.

We care for our Mother Earth. Sustainability guides us to reduce, reuse, and recycle wherever possible. In alignment with our ethical, moral, and environmental principles, we have chosen not to allow the consumption of meat in our home.

For us this is more than just a house and we are honored to share it with you.
